Our client for this project is an international company and world leader in delivering complete weighing, inspection and packing line solutions. The project was delivered to the client’s overseas plant.
The client required ceiling conveyors for the transportation of their raw product. The challenge was to find a solution to transport the product from a holding hopper attached to the ceiling, and distributing, detecting and separating product towards two multi-head weighing machines situated on the ground.
The key challenges were to position and align our solution with the multi-head weighing machines whilst ensuring hygiene standards were met.
Our approach to the engineering design and development involved the use of two identical conveyors, with one situated higher than the other to allow product to automatically via running belt, be lowered during transportation without being prone to damage.
The integrated software is able to detect a low stock within the weighing machine and allow the product to divert to the empty weighing machine, via two smaller sized identical conveyors.
We used a food suitable belt resistant to abrasion and grease, and compatible with the transportation of the product.
Further enhancements were made by implementing a sensor capable detecting blockages within the holding tray.
